The Pitt County (N.C.) Sheriff’s Office received a tip from the Polaris Project’s National Human Trafficking Hotline and it led to the arrest of a Raleigh, North Carolina man on human trafficking charges.
Deputies contacted the 18-year-old victim and she said that Tyrone Robinson had been controlling her for years. She expressed a fear for her life and desire to get free.
The deputies then put together a sting where Robinson told officers that they could buy the girl’s services for $60.
Authorities in North Carolina believe they have stopped a multi-state child sex trafficking ring after a traffic stop near Durham, NC.
Durham County Deputies pulled over a car suspecting a DWI and discovered five runaway teens along with two men. Hang Wu, 22 and Ryan Wurvel, 20, were taken into custody.
According to authorities the men connected with all of the teens online. The families of the victims were notified and are taking their missing children home.

On Eagles Wings Ministries is renovating a home that will be called the “Hope House”. It will be the second house that has been opened by On Eagles Wings to help girls 15-18 who have been victims of trafficking.
A local church purchased a vacant home for the ministry. The home is on a six acre lot where they hope to build more cottages to provide girls a safe place to escape.

Years later, she fully left her old lifestyle when she found out a 5th grade girl was being trafficked and that her pimp hooked the girl on meth.
Today, she has a “sweet” place for girls who have been rescued from trafficking to heal and find a new life.
Two Charlotte, North Carolina women are sounding the alarm regarding the online classified site “Backpage.” Jillian Mourning, a 25-year-old trafficking survivor and another survivor identified only as “Susan” are trying to make people aware that pimps are using the online service to abduct women into sex trafficking.
The women are on a mission to get Backpage to remove their adult classified section in the same manner as Craigslist.
“When I learned that there was a 12-year-old in my city that was being raped 20 to 30 times a day and sold for profit for someone, it just kind of crushed me,” Mark Blackwell of Justice Ministries said. Blackwell helped women in situations similar to Jillian and Susan.
